Even though the camera is not a full SLR the flash works in full automatic mode off the hot shoe.It also has manual controls (pick from 6 preset distances) for use in manual mode.It has a diffuser and bounce backboard that slide in the casing. The stofen diffuser is a nice extra.The flash is half the price of the comparable canon. The batteries and charger do the job but the charger takes too long.I like the energizer charger I find at CVS that fully charges the batteries in 3-4 hours as opposed to 10+ with this kits charger.
