Be quite cautious with this item, DPS-601 Endure series. I bought these from brick/mortar store not knowing what they are and I still don't know what they are. No information is listed on the package nor on any websites I have found yet stating what type of batteries (alkaline, NIMH or Nicad) these are or what is the power rating ... Very important information to know. Since batteries come pre-charged in the package, I most likely presume these are standard alkaline rechargeable batteries and not the more powerful and longer lasting NiMH batteries. Yet, NiMH batteries while much more powerful, will self-discharge daily about 1% of their power (I never knew that until I did some research).

Suggestion -- Stay away from these digipower endure series if you want real power for your high power drain devices like digital cameras... normal alkalines will not do it for you (if that is what these are). If anyone can find real battery power information on these batteries ...please post here for others to see.If you are a very, very casual camera user then these may be alright, you will just be limited with time of use and will have to recharge often. Power zooms, self focusing system, LCD displays will all use up power storage in a camera.

Second, be wary of any "fast charger" type battery charger with this kit. In general these cause some danger to the battery in the long run and will shorten the battery life. Better to find a slow trickle charger type charging system (but will cost more).

Last word on the subject. My web research has found that while NiMH (nickle metal hydrides) are great for power (up to 2500ma and 2700ma power for higher end) for more picture taking and camera LCD screen viewing, they do have that slow self discharge rate characterisitic... which means the NimH battery slowly loses stored power over time, even while turned off and sitting around.A recently new battery technology comes up with a hybrid battery ... Eneloop batteries by Sanyo and Hybrio batteries by UniRoss that allow for high battery power about 2000 ma (so not as high as NIMH) but will not self-discharge significantly. So at the end of 60-120 days sitting around you will have much more battery power with these new technology batteries. Go search these items out for information, in the long run, I think you will glad you did.I am not knocking Digipower batteries ... I just do not see any information as to what type or power rating or battery composition these endure series DPS-601 batteries are and that is highly important information to you and me, the consumer. Why is it not listed? Be wary until you can find the answer.
