(More customer reviews)Although the Elan II/IIe camera is wonderfully ergonomically designed, the BP-50 improves this aspect even more, particularly for vertical shots, but even for horizontal ones as well.The shutter release on the vertical grip is convenient, and the user still has access to the thumb wheel on the back.Unfortunately, there is no redundant main dial on the shutter release on the grip.Also, when you have CF-4 set to 1 (autofocus on the AE lock button) then it's nearly impossible to use autofocus in the vertical position (unless you have a really long thumb!).Another advantage of the grip, though, is the ability to use AA batteries with the camera.You probably could pay for the grip over time with the savings of using AAs over buying the 2CR5 batteries.And AAs are a lot more readily available than 2CR5s, should you need batteries in a bind.In summary, if most of the pictures you take are hand-held, such as sports and candid portraiture, then the BP-50 is definitely worthwhile.

I received a message that the order shipped, but after a few days I got suspicious and called them, only to find that with only three days to go before my vacation started they hadn't got around to calling me, which is apparently a company prerequisite (so they can sell more? --I don't know for sure).

(More customer reviews)I bought this item believing that I would be able to use ALL the eight batteries with the camera it was suggested by this site, the Nikon 100. it doesn't. Only 4 of the 8 batteries worked and the other four don't even get any lights to go on. Interesting Amazon getting this kind of bad publicity!!!
The price is cheap, but I would have paid more in order to have the 8 batteries set, and not all theother items that only really take space. Wasteful move.

(More customer reviews)Even I have paid 64 bucks to this device. I couldnt solve my battery problem. After I have charged the batteries for nearly 5-6 hours. I put them into my Nikon L100 coolpix camera. But I have still seen the battery low sign on my camera screen. This is terrible feeling after paying to much to a couple of battery. I dont recommend you to buy this item. Maybe you are wondering how you will solve the battery problem of this camera model.I have bought 3x4 battery sets for this camera till now.. but still couldnt find the solution. Unfortunately, I still didnt find out the answer of this question either!. Hate you NIKON!
