(More customer reviews)I bought this printer at the bequest of a customer for his home office install.It works great and the Bluetooth option is worth getting!Basically the only difference between the 460C, 460WF and 460WBT is the type of card includes for the Compact Flash slot.WF has a Wireless CF card, and the WBT has a Bluetooth CF Card.If your laptop is bluetooth capable and WBT option is great - no wires and setup literally takes 5 mins.The printer turns on quickly (the self test is only a few seconds) and printing is very fast for an inkjet.Quality is par with other inkjets (not laser quality but very close).I highly recommend this printer for travellers or people who need something with small footprint for small spaces or those who want something light/sleep looking.HP came up with a winner with the 460c.

HP iPAQ rx5915 Travel Companion Review

(More customer reviews)It's a GPS with all the pocket PC features, not a PPC with GPS features. This is a GPS first! It's basically the same as a TomTom One navigation system, but with the added PPC functions. I've had other GPS/PDA/PPC combos in the past and they don't stack up to this one at all!

Lets look at the GPS first:

The map issue that others are having is going to depend on where you live or where you will be using this unit. Try different GPS's software, as they aren't all the same.

Personally, I like the Magellan software for it's "Dings" when approaching a turn, as well as it's "Approaching destination on the left" notifications. TomTom doesn't tell you what side of the street your destination is on, except for the location on the screen (no verbal prompt.)TomTom however has a much better itinerary planning capability than the Magellan, one feature I liked more.

You can load your own custom POI's if you want, but the TomTom POI's are a little lacking. It's not like I found everything in my Magellan either though. It depends on how much you want to rely on the POI's. As an advantage, since this is wifi enabled and has pocket internet explorer, you can always use the internet to find the POI you are looking for.

The biggest negative I have is with the GPS fix time. It's slow. I mean really slow. Sometimes it can take a few minutes, and if you are already moving it seems to take even longer. Up to several minutes.

I wish one of the buttons was a mute/un-mute button, but it's something I can live without.

The car cradle is the best one I've ever used. It's very easy to mount, and it's even easier to insert the GPS and remove it. Takes no time at all. Since it's powered by mini-usb, this is an added bonus for me, as my cell phone charges on the same connection.

Battery life is excellent, it lasts about 5 hours for my use so far. Enabling wifi or bluetooth will of course lower the battery performance.


Onto the PocketPC functions:

As a PPC, this thing rocks! With wifi and bluetooth you have every connection you could need. I use the internet on this more than I thought I would. I check my web based email, browse the news headlines, watch streaming video and listen to online music. It's got a few hundred megs of extra space for MP3's if you want, but I use my ipod for my mp3 listening. I also use this to store my photos. I have a phone that runs pocket windows as well, and with it's camera I can take a photo and send it via bluetooth to the PPC and add a contact in no time!

Pocket Internet Explorer doesn't always work for me. I like the Opera browser more (free 30 day trial) but I've found a few sites that wouldn't work in Opera, or looked better in Pocket IE.

It came down to this or a Magellan 3050T GPS system. I chose this because it's smaller, lighter, and has a ton of options over a stand-alone GPS. You can't compare this to a stand alone GPS because it's not. It has many more options that you may or may not use. If you are considering buying a TomTom One GPS, then get this instead. It's about the same price, runs the exact same software (TomTom 6.0) and has all the PDA features in a smaller package.

I hope this was helpful, but in the end it depends on what your looking for. I travel a lot, and needed something that had all the maps built in, was small enough to take on my carry on, could travel with me and was easy to use. I think I've found it in this unit. Just try and take one of the stand alone GPS's and casually put it in your pocket, good luck getting it out!
Additional Information:
TomTom and HP are currently working on an updated map release for this product and will (hopefully) have it available on the HP support website by the end of January. TomTom is hailing this update as "The most detailed and accurate maps of the US and Canada ever produced.."This update will also be free to owners of the RX5900 series Travel Companions.

Update 02/08/07:
HP Hasn't released an updated map pack yet, however they did release a firmware update for the unit. This update improves the GPS functionality and accuracy. I now get GPS locks in seconds, where it used to take minutes. While driving, I get a lock in 10 seconds. I get a lock faster if I'm stopped. It is definitely a significant improvement and I recommend everyone that owns one of these updates the firmware.

HP XB3000 Port Replicator XB3000 Review

(More customer reviews)I just bought HP Pavilion dv2000t; it is my first notebook ever after 15 years of desktop computers. So I want it to be a smooth move. One of my main concerns while choosing the notebook was the docking station. I was looking for a desktop replacement, and HP xb3000 covered almost 95% of my needs. It has 6 USB ports, Headphone jack, Mic jack, SPDIF Audio output, VGA port, RCA video, video components, S-video, Ethernet connection, Speakers, Volume control, Mute, and Power Switch. It has adjustable reclaim stand, where you can adjust the height of your notebook. In addition, it comes with wireless keyboard and mouse along with their receiver which should be connected to one of the USB ports (I used them for another computer since I already have my Logitech EX300). The xb3000 has a small compartment for optional HP 300GB harddrive kit which I think does not worth the price ($250), I prefer if HP sells the Harddrive kit alone without the 300GB hard disk so I can install my own capacity. Well, you can use an external USB Hard Disk anyway.

I connected 19" LCD to the station where I use it as primary monitor and my notebook as the extended, this way helps you viewing different websites or document simultaneously on both monitors.

Pros: All above mentioned ports connects to the notebook with a single plug. You can use notebook ports as well while docked. In addition, you can use the remote control that comes with the notebook. Also you can use any two video outputs together. The notebook charges while docked.

Cons: No AC adapter included, where you suppose to use your notebook adapter!! I don't know what HP were thinking, it is not practical to remove it each time you want to take the notebook with you!! So I ordered another adapter of course, (I think this what HP wanted). You can add its cost to the xb3000. Another disadvantage, there is no Firewire port, although it is not important to me, yet. But still you can use the one in the notebook. Another thing, while restarting the computer, the speakers make a high knock-like noise even if they were muted. One last thing, forget about connecting your LCD with DVI connection, neither the notebook nor the xb3000 have Digital input (DVI), so you should use the analog (the blue monitor connector).

I read in other reviews that if you unplug the docking station while using or viewing a file in an external drive, it would crash windows. This will happen also if the notebook hibernated while the file was open. I have not tried this myself so I am not sure.

Overall, I'm very happy with my xb3000. It made my office looks neat.

HP Wireless Optical Mouse Rechargeable Review

Set up was a BREEZE even with my old Windows ME. In took me about two minutes to hook it up, and about ten to get used to it. At first, for me, the mouse was too sensitive. This was easily fixed by visiting the control panel. Though it does in fact have five programmable buttons, It is quite unlikely you'll use the left and right-clicker for anything more than their original function. Same goes for the scroll-wheel. Though it states it has "pin-point" accuracy, it seems a little off from such a statement. Though the mouse is usually precise, It can be difficult to navigate to tiny regions. Often missing the "Close" command and hitting the "Maximize."

Do I regret buying this mouse?
Hardly. Though I have little knowledge on how an optical mouse should work. You see, I have used a track-ball mouse for a little over 7 years now, and just recently decided it was too much of a hassle to clean it.

This mouse works great, charges fine, and I have yet to notice any interference with other objects.

(More customer reviews)I only plugged it in and tried it with my 17" HP Pavilion DV7 for long enough to see that it does power the laptop and charge the battery, and the plug fits securely into the socket on the laptop (which is more than I can say for the original HP cord).

My only complaint is that the cord is only about 6 feet, which sounds like a lot, but it isn't enough to stretch comfortably from the lighter adapter in the dash to a passenger in the back seat, for example (if it could go right through the seat, maybe, but it has to go over the seats or between or around them in most cars).If you have a 12-volt outlet very close to your seat, or you just want to use it to charge the battery, it should work fine. I bought mine to use with the 12-volt system in an RV, but the cord isn't long enough to reach from any of the 12-volt outlets to any of the tables or seating areas.

It would be nice if it had a 90-degree plug, too.Having a couple of inches of plug sticking out the side of the laptop, especially in a confined space, is just asking to get it broken.HP cords are made the same way though, and their plugs are even a little longer, so it's more a wishful thought than a complaint.

I am rereading the description and I cant see where it says this is a extended battery as in it is twice the size as the OEM battery. I don't mind it, I actually think the way it props the computer up is kinda neat. Just a warning though for those who want a regular OEM battery, THIS IS NOT IT. HP 90W-AC/ADAPTER for Compaq Review

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a replacement charger for my DV9000 when it died on me...but could only find knock offs with poor reviews for cheap.I really didn't want to spend a ton on a replacement, as most genuine parts cost 4x or more as generics.When I saw this one for a reasonable price...I went for it, and I was pleasantly surprised to see retail HP packaging.Not only that, but generics tend to run at 18.5v, rather than HPs unit, which is at 19v.The adapter works great and build quality seems fine.I would recommend to spend a little more and get this adapter, rather than a cheap Chinese generic model that has reliability and voltage issues.

UPDATE 04/02/2010 - Unit is still working without any issues.

(More customer reviews)This battery fits my HP tx2500z tablet PC.It sticks out the back about twice as much as the stock battery, but for me that's not a big deal.It shipped with very little (~4%) charge on it.Style-wise, it looks very similar to the stock battery (besides the elongated shape).I preferred this shape battery for an 8 cell as opposed to what HP offered (which raised the back of the tablet off the table).Also, this battery costs 1/3 of what HP wants.

(More customer reviews)This thing is huge!I didn't realize how big it was though I did read the dimensions for this thing.It is heavy and larger than the very large adapter I got with my HDX18.I wish HP would come up with more compact adapters for the HDX18.The laptops themselves are large and difficult to carry around.It does not help that the adapters add another 2 pounds to a 9 lb laptop.If you need a replacement adapter for your HDX18, go with the 120V.

It's very uncomfortable to rest on your lap - you'll need a laptop pad. It charged once and after that wouldn't accept a charge and went completely dead.

(More customer reviews)When the original adapter to my HP laptop began giving me problems (would only charge when set in a certain position and had to me moved around a lot to charge), I parked myself in front of my desk top to hunt for a new one online. I was so happy to have found this on Amazon and for a good price. It was almost double for the same item directly from HP and I was not willing to pay that much. I am super happy w/ this item and the shipping was super fast. I ordered on Tuesday and it came today, on Saturday (4 days later!). Awesome!

I also was beyond thrilled to have been sent two power cords by this seller, one is the same length as the original and the second is longer and I am not confined to as small of an area when trying to charge & use my laptop at the same time. The plus is my daughter will probably not be tripping over my cord and I won't accidentally yank it out if I move a little.
